Tram Pham recieves the Karin Westman Berg-scholarship
2023-11-09
The Karin Westman Berg scholarship fund awards Tram Pham, PhD student in economics, with the 2023 scholarship.
The scholarship of SEK 30,000 is awarded annually to a female doctoral student at Uppsala University or SLU " notable contribution to research in the spirit of Karin Westman Berg." One of the requirements for receiving the scholarship is that the research must have a gender perspective.
Tram's research focuses on health economics and her research often uses gender perspectives as an important analytical tool. Her current research project investigates how poor working conditions influence employees' mental health in Sweden, and how it, among other things, may vary based on gender.
Earlier this year, Tram received an award for Best Student Paper at the Nordic Health Economics Study Group's conference. She received the award for her article that investigates the reasons behind the immigrant-native health gap during the covid-19 pandemic in Sweden
