Joshua Angrist and David Card keynotes at the UCLS workshop


Joshua Angrist and David Card, who received the Sveriges Riksbank prize in Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel 2021 (The Nobel prize for Economics), were keynote speakers at a workshop arranged by the Uppsala Center for Labor Studies (UCLS) at the Department of Economics. Around 70 participants took part during the day, which took place in the beautiful University Main Building.

Joshua Angrist of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) presented his paper Still Worth the Trip? School Busing Effects in Boston and New York before lunch and David Card from the University of California- Berkeley, ended the day's workshop with his paper: Location, Location, Location before it was time for the joint dinner for all workshop participants.

In addition to Angrist and Card, 10 other researchers in Labor Market Economics presented their research with titles such as Gender wage gaps and household decisions: Evidence from a promotion reform, Firm-to-firm Connections and Workforce Reallocation and Parenthood, Family Friendly Workplaces, and the Gender Gaps in Early Work Careers.
