Computer network and access card - Department of Economics

The student network UpUnet-S

Students at Uppsala University are offered access to the university computer network, UpUnet-S. UpUnet-S gives students the opportunity to use e-mail, check study results, create a personal webpage, find and reserve books at the University Library and search for information on the Internet. If you do not have the opportunity to connect to the network from your home, you can use the computers at the University to access UpUnet-S.

Computer room

In room F434, the department has around 20 computers and printers available to students at the Department. The computers contain standard software for using the Internet, word processing, calculations and statistical calculations, in addition to giving access to some economic databases. To use the computer room, you need a current access card and an UpUnet-S account.

Access cards

To get into Ekonomikum when the doors are locked, and to use the computer room, you need an access card. The access cards used are the same for the whole University and give access to the specific buildings where a student is registered. The card is automatically updated every term at the time of registration. The reception on Ekonomikum can help you get a card if you do not already have one. Students are not allowed to be in Ekonomikum between 2 and 5 am.
